"Wha- WHAT DO YOU MEAN AL IS GONE?!" ed started to bawl and he squatted on the floor putting his hands on his head. You rushed over to him. you tried to get him to look at you.

"I'm sorry...Let's go to bed." He nodded in agreement.

~~~~once you're in bed~~~~

"What do you mean, that Al is gone?" He whispered facing you.

"When envy killed you, those years ago, Al transmuted himself to bring your soul back in your body. You had no idea what had happened. You would talk to yourself, or as if someone was beside you, and you would call them Al. You would smile like you always had with him. but the next day you wouldn't remember anything. Like by tomorrow you might not remember anything." you said.

"Im off!" Ed shouted as he closed the door. You got a call from Colonel Mustang.

"He's doing it again?" Mustang asked

"Yes..."

"It's my fault, [first name]. Al and Ed were my responsibility and he came home like this."

"It's not, Colonel. Don't blame yourself for Ed's condition." You whispered.

"It was Al's choice. Unfortunately, we couldn't have both, Ed and Al. I remember how Ed was when he thought he was talking to Al. As if he were in a beautiful nightmare, one where he was happy, or in other words, paradise." You added then you hung up.
